Polar Bear Day Activities

10:00 am - 4:00 pm Tailgate Party parking
11:00 am - 2:00 pm Swim registration
1:45 pm Polar Bear Queen Contest:
Check in at the Lions Pavilion in the park
1:50 pm Swimmers under18
2:00 pm SWIM FOR SIGHT
Access times will be scheduled in 15 minute intervals. $100 fundraisers will receive preferred first access.

Registration Information

  • registration polar bearAll swimmers must register prior to the swim.
    (Minimum swimmer contribution is $20 this year.)
  • Arrive early and submit registration + donations at the Lions Pavilion in the park. Registration starts at 11:00 am.

To save time during the registration process ---
PRINT OUT OUR REGISTRATION FORM and fill it out ahead of time. Please note: You still must register on-site, provide your contribution and receive your prize on the day of the swim at the Lions Pavilion in Olcott's Krull Park.

  • Please make checks payable to:

  • Workplace Sponsors – Employers and co-workers who sponsor swimmers are eligible for special workplace recognition. Workplace teams and supporters love helping swimmers reach their goal of $100... or more!

Special Rewards for Raising $100 or More!

  • All swimmers receive a Polar Bear T-shirt.
  • Raise $100 or more and receive a PASS giving you PREFERRED FIRST ACCESS to the beach!
  • Raise $100 or more and receive a unique "Swim for Sight" hoodie.
  • Raise $250 or more and receive a premium quality jacket with "Swim for Sight" logo.
  • Raise over $500 and you will receive a DINNER GIFT CERTIFICATE.

FUN means SAFETY

How’s your health? Water temps will be in the 30’s and the air and wind-chill can be colder.

In order to be a safe Polar Bear, everyone must:

  • Remain in designated safety areas
  • Wear sneakers or protective footwear
  • Obey safety officials

Swimmers’ checklist:

  • Sneakers
  • Blanket
  • Dry Clothes
  • Blanket
  • Helper*
  • Camera
  • Registration
  • Donation
*Beach access will be limited. Only one helper will be allowed to accompany each swimmer.

Located in the rear of the registration area.

Olcott Beach is located on Lake Ontario, off Route 18 at Route 78 North. Less than an hour from Buffalo. Just over an hour from Rochester.

Handicapped parking is available on Ontario Street, above the beach.
